We take pride in the quality of our work and strive to complete each and every job to the customer’s quality level and not just to industry standards. However there are several factors listed below you should be aware of:
The Truth about Wood – Wood is a “living” product and it is important to have realistic expectations. It will expand and contract with the environment. This means heating your house in the winter causes shrinking and cooling your house in the summer causes the wood to expand. Cracks in between the wood planks may be noticeable through one season and disappear during the next season.
Sanding & Finishing - When sanding and finishing a floor, you can expect noise, dust and some fumes during this process. Plastic will be used to help seal off the work area, however no system is 100% dust free and we recommend removing any furniture/items that may concern you. We take pride in our work and will do our very best to keep things clean. Stains in pre-existing floors caused by unknown substances are not guaranteed to change colors. Pets need to be kept away from the work area at all times.
Once the wood is ready to apply finish no traffic will be permitted on the floor. All air movement may need to be eliminated during the finishing process by keeping all the doors/windows closed and the heat or A/C may need to be turned off. It is your responsibility to keep people or other tradesman off of the flooring after it has been finished. We will do our best to approximate a time frame needed for the flooring to dry, however drying times may vary slightly due to environmental factors.
Installation - Please keep in mind that no two floor boards are identical and variations in appearances are normal. As the boards are milled from a tree, each will have grain and color variances. Wood that contains any obvious defects will not be installed. Over time color changes may occur and this can be minimized by periodically moving furniture around and limiting direct sunlight exposure.
Scheduling – Any last minute changes to the job size, finish or color may require more time to complete the job. Every job is different and we will do our best to get your job completed in a timely manner.
Customer Preparation – All furniture, appliances and room furnishings should be removed from the rooms where the flooring is being installed or being sanded and finished. The deposit and signed agreements are due before starting the job.
Payments – The final payment is due when the job is completed. A late charge of 10% will be charged if payment is not received within 10 days from the date the job was completed. A $ 50.00 fee will be applied to any returned checks.
